Republic of Ireland Holy Family Secondary School Visiting Party

Twenty Irish high school girls visited Sendai Ikuei Gakuen Tagajo Campus from February 11th to 18th, 2006. They came from the Holy Family Secondary School, which is a Sendai Ikuei Gakuen sister school. They experienced Japanese lessons and Japanese culture. Tea ceremony and flower arrangement were taught by Foreign Language Course students who also had been taking those classes. Naginata, the Japanese halberd, was taught by students of the Naginata team. In an exchange party with Ikuei Gakuen students, Foreign Language Course students played the mandolin. Irish students performed fantastic Irish dance and Celtic folk songs, which won big applause in the hall.
In the afternoon, they visited Zuihoden Mausoleum and Aoba Castle, and Enjoyed shopping in downtown area . They also visited Matsushima, which is famous as one of the three most scenic spots in Japan.
On the last day, they had a farewell party. As the party went on, they felt the sorrow of parting from their host families and Sendai Ikuei students.
