Twenty
Irish high school girls visited Sendai Ikuei Gakuen Tagajo Campus
from February 11th to 18th, 2006. They came from the Holy Family Secondary
School, which is a Sendai Ikuei Gakuen sister school. They experienced
Japanese lessons and Japanese culture. Tea ceremony and flower arrangement
were taught by Foreign Language Course students who also had been taking
those classes. Naginata, the Japanese halberd, was taught by students
of the Naginata team. In an exchange party with Ikuei Gakuen students,
Foreign Language Course students played the mandolin. Irish students performed
fantastic Irish dance and Celtic folk songs, which won big applause in
the hall.
In the afternoon, they visited Zuihoden Mausoleum and Aoba Castle, and
Enjoyed shopping in downtown area . They also visited Matsushima, which
is famous as one of the three most scenic spots in Japan.
On the last day, they had a farewell party. As the party went on, they
felt the sorrow of parting from their host families and Sendai Ikuei students.
